Dr. Bill Krissoff, ’64 lost his 25 year old son, Marine 1st Lt. Nathan Krissoff, on December 9, 2006 in Al Ambar province, Iraq. To honor his son and serve his country, Bill obtained a special waiver to enlist in the U. S. Navy Medical Corps Reserves. An orthopedic surgeon, Bill will be of great service to the Navy and will also assist with the medical needs of the Marines (his fallen son’s branch of service). The new Navy Lt. Commander Krissoff and his wife, Christine, have another son, Austin, who also serves in the U. S. Marine Corp. They live in Truckee, California.

Elizabeth Attwood Collins, ‘53 of San Antonio, TX died December 26, 2007. She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Bob and two daughters and four grandchildren. Betty was an active member of the
class of 1953 and instrumental in planning reunions.
Paul E. Douglas, ’64 of Grand Rapids, MI died January 6, 2008. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jo, daughter, Jenifer, sons, Keith, Zackary and Symon, and several grandchildren. He ran the family business, The Camera Center on Wealthy St., SE in Grand Rapids until 2005.
Richard Fletcher, ’47 of West Olive, MI died September 26, 2007. He is survived by his wife of nearly 54 years, Laura and children, Linda and Kristine.
Louise E. Petersen Schaefer, ’33 of Grand Rapids, MI died on February 5, 2008. Her husband Walter Schaefer, Jr., preceded her in death. She is survived by her four children, William, James, Ellen and Stephen, nine grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She was an active member of the Grand Rapids community and had a long professional writing career that included free-lance copy work for many local businesses and newspapers.
Constance Ryan Seeley, ’52 of Grand Rapids, MI, died on June 2, 2007. She is survived by her husband, Bruce (class of ’51) three daughters, Lynn, Leigh and Blythe and several grandchildren. She was a true friend to so many, had a wonderful sense of humor and will be missed by her family
and friends.
Deborah J. Swift, ’83 of Grand Haven, MI died unexpectedly, August 12, 2007. She leaves behind her son, Samuel, parents Nancy and Jack Swift and brother, Michael Swift.
Peter H. VandenBerg, ’76 of Milwaukee, WI died on March 31, 2008 surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife Nancy Todd VandenBerg and their three children, Will, Sarah and Andy. He leaves
behind his Mother, Shirley VandenBerg and brother Chris and sisters Juliana and Susan. The Foundations VandenBerg Scholarship was established by the VandenBerg Family in memory of Peter’s Father, William.
